OCR Nations in ICT Level 2 (revised qualification)

From September 2009 Year 8 and 9 pupils have had the opportunity of following the OCR Nationals in ICT Level 2 This course has been developed to provide candidates with an introduction to the skills, knowledge and understanding required to prepare for work in the IT sector.

Year 8 and 9 pupils cover the following Units:

Unit 1 – ICT skills for business

Unit 4 – Design and produce multi media products

Unit 5 – Desk top publishing

Unit 20 – Creating animation for the web

Unit 23: Creating video

In year 10 pupils cover the following units:

Unit 2 – Webpage creation

Unit 3 – Digital Imaging – plan and produce computer graphics

Pupils are entered for the OCR qualification at the end of Year 9, those gaining the higher grades then have an option of following a GCE AS Level ICT Course in Year 10 and 11.
